What soil to use for growing roses

What soil to use for growing roses

1. Flower soil requirements

1. Good drainage: Because roses are afraid of waterlogging, when planting them, you must use soil with good drainage. In this way, after watering, water will not easily accumulate in the soil, and it will not be easily affected by waterlogging.

2. High fertility: Because it needs more nutrients to bloom, it needs to be planted in soil with higher fertility. This way it can absorb more nutrients from the soil and bloom more flowers.

3. Relatively loose: Its roots need to breathe in order to absorb nutrients normally. Therefore, you should use relatively loose soil to plant it, because this kind of soil is very beneficial to the breathing of its roots.

4. Weakly acidic: It can grow in neutral flower soil, but it will grow better in weakly acidic flower soil. Therefore, it is best to use flower soil with a pH slightly below 7 to grow it.

2. Preparation method

1. It is recommended to mix sandy loam, vermiculite and sawdust in a ratio of 1:1:1, and then add a small amount of manure fertilizer to prepare it as flower soil. This kind of soil has high permeability and certain fertility, which is very suitable for its growth.

2. If you don’t have any special materials on hand, you can also use three parts of leaf mold, two parts of garden soil and one part of clean river sand to make its flower soil. This kind of soil has high fertility and is loose enough, making it suitable for growing it.
