Hibiscus cutting method and time

Hibiscus cutting method and time

1. Time

The suitable time for cuttings is spring, specifically around March to April, but you can also choose autumn and winter. To be precise, when the temperature for cuttings can reach around 17-20℃, the cuttings will easily take root. Cuttings can be carried out in conjunction with pruning, and the cut branches can be used.

2. Methods

1. Branches: The branches used for cuttings must be relatively strong. There should be no small insects on the branches, and the length requirement is not high, about 10-15cm will be enough.

2. Soil: When preparing the soil, you should use soil with better air permeability and add some decomposed fertilizer. You can use an ordinary pot as the flower pot, but you should put broken tiles at the bottom of the pot as a base.

3. Disinfection: The prepared soil must be disinfected in advance. It is recommended to spread the soil under the sun to eliminate the bacteria and insect eggs in the soil. It is best to soak the branches in the rooting agent for a while, or dip them in rooting powder at the bottom, so that they will take root faster.

4. Cutting: After the branches are processed, insert them into the pot. If there are many branches cut in a flowerpot, you need to keep a good distance between them. After that, put it in a cool place after watering, and it will grow roots in 30 days.
