When should grape vines in the south be transplanted? How long does it usually take for transplanted grape vines to sprout?

1. Transplanting time

It is best transplanted during the spring equinox, when the sap begins to flow but normal growth has not yet begun. Roots damaged during digging operations are more likely to heal. And after growing from early spring to late autumn, the injured parts have recovered and accumulated enough nutrients to ensure it safely survives the winter. The specific time is between February and March. At this time, the soil has thawed and the ground temperature is relatively stable. The plants can adapt to the new environment more quickly, which can increase the survival rate.

2. Transplanting method

1. Although it has strong adaptability and can grow in sandy soil, gravel soil, and loam, it is still recommended to choose a plot with sandy loam, which is more conducive to its growth. And you should choose seedlings with well-developed root systems and no diseases or pests, as this will have a higher survival rate. When choosing a good piece of land, you need to deeply plow the soil and apply fertilizer to ensure sufficient nutrient supply.

2. After processing, you can dig holes and plant. Pay attention to the spacing between plants and rows, and do not plant too densely. After the hole is dug, put the seedling in and spread the roots. Fill the soil carefully, compact it, water it thoroughly, and fill it level after the water seeps in.

3. How long does it take to germinate?

As long as the transplanting time is appropriate and the planting method is correct, it will germinate in about 15-20 days after planting and can also grow well later. However, if the plant is transplanted after germination, the new sprouts will pause for a few days and then slowly resume growth.
