How to ferment chicken manure into organic fertilizer and how to apply it

1. How to ferment chicken manure into organic fertilizer

1. Natural fermentation: The most common way to ferment chicken manure into organic fertilizer is natural fermentation. Specifically, spread the chicken manure flat in a place where the sun shines directly on it and dry it. Then stack them together and cover the top with a layer of plastic wrap to keep them warm. In this way, the chicken manure can naturally heat up and ferment. When the temperature inside the chicken manure rises to about 70℃, remove the plastic film and spread them out to cool down. When the temperature drops to about 50°C, repeat the deposition and coating process. Repeat this 2-3 times and the chicken manure will ferment into organic fertilizer.

2. Drying and fermentation: In addition to natural fermentation by sun exposure, chicken manure can also be fermented by drying. Specifically, the chicken manure is first dried by heating. Then lay them flat and add a 5/1000 dilution of starter and grass powder mixture into them, pile them up and cover them with straw to keep them warm. When the internal temperature rises to about 60℃, remove the straw. Turn the chicken manure once, add a small amount of starter and cover with straw again. When the temperature rises to around 60℃ again, fermentation is basically completed.

2. How to use fermented chicken manure

Fermented chicken manure can be used as base fertilizer before planting plants. The specific method is to deep turn the soil with a shovel before planting plants, then add an appropriate amount of chicken manure fertilizer and stir it evenly so that they are fully mixed with the soil.
