Why are the leaves of Tiger Eye Evergreen turning yellow?

Why are the leaves of Tiger Eye Evergreen turning yellow?

Caused by lack of water

If the leaves of a newly transplanted Ornithogalum turn yellow, it may be because the roots have not yet adapted to the new soil and the corresponding water supply is insufficient, causing the Ornithogalum to lack water, which leads to the yellowing of the leaves.

At this time, be careful not to over-water. You should choose fertile and well-drained sandy soil, and keep the soil moist. Allow the Tiger Eye Dieffenbachia to gradually adapt to the new soil, which will improve the yellowing of leaves.

Lack of nitrogen fertilizer

The yellowing leaves of Ornithogalum may also be due to a lack of nitrogen fertilizer. Nitrogen fertilizer can make the roots, stems and leaves of the plant grow better, so the yellowing leaves may be due to a lack of nitrogen fertilizer. In early summer, plants often lack nitrogen fertilizer and their leaves turn yellow. At this time, just apply some nitrogen fertilizer (such as bean cake) appropriately.

Excessive water

Too much water may also cause the leaves of Ornithogalum to turn yellow. Generally, the characteristic of plants whose leaves turn yellow due to excessive watering is that the old leaves will not undergo any obvious changes, but the newly grown leaves will turn yellow. If this happens, reduce the frequency and amount of watering.

Iron deficiency yellowing

If the Ornithogalum is planted in a greenhouse and the soil fertility changes greatly, the leaves of the Ornithogalum may turn yellow. Such yellowing is more serious in young leaves and less serious in old leaves. The leaf flesh often turns yellow but the veins remain green. At this time, you can use a solution made of seven parts cake fertilizer, five parts ferrous sulfate and 200 parts water to water the plants to solve the problem.
