What to do if rose leaves turn yellow

What to do if rose leaves turn yellow

1. Reduce watering

Reason: Roses are afraid of waterlogging. If you give it too much water, it will not be able to absorb it in time and the water will be retained in the soil to form water accumulation. Stagnant water will affect the circulation of air in the soil, which in turn will affect the respiration of the roots. Once respiration is inhibited, the root cells do not have enough energy to absorb nutrients from the soil, resulting in the leaves turning yellow due to lack of nutrients.

Solution: Stop watering first, then insert a shovel into the soil and shake it slightly to loosen the soil. Then place it in a well-ventilated place to allow the moisture in the soil to be dried by the wind. Reduce watering afterwards.

2. Control the temperature

Reason: Rose likes a relatively warm growing environment. If it is placed in a place with too high temperature for a long time, it will be affected by the high temperature and produce yellow leaves. In addition, if it is placed in a place with too low temperature for a long time, it may be frostbitten and produce yellow leaves.

Solution: First remove the yellow leaves, and then place it in an environment of 18-20℃ and slowly cure it. If this temperature condition cannot be reached, it should be placed in a place of 5-30℃, because once the temperature exceeds this range, it will be detrimental to its growth.

3. Increase lighting

Reason: Rose is a relatively light-loving flower. If it does not receive sunlight for a long time, its leaves will turn yellow due to lack of nutrients and normal photosynthesis.

Solution: Increase the time it receives sunlight, ensuring it receives at least 4-6 hours of sunlight per day.
