What to do if the leaves of Chlorophytum turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of Chlorophytum turn yellow

1. Scientific fertilization:

Reason: Too much or insufficient fertilizer will cause the leaves to turn yellow. Excessive fertilizer will cause the leaves of the spider plant to become uneven and the roots to rot, while insufficient fertilizer will cause the leaves of the spider plant to appear yellow and thin.

Treatment method: If it is due to excessive fertilization, stop immediately, water more, wash the roots clean and then update new soil; if it is due to overfertilization, increase the amount of fertilizer appropriately.

2. Increased light:

Reason: Chlorophytum is a plant that needs at least 4 hours of diffuse light every day. If there is insufficient light, the leaves will turn yellow.

Treatment method: Take some time every day to place the spider plant in the sun so that it can fully receive the sun bath. Pay special attention to prevent the spider plant from being exposed to excessive sunlight.

3. Loosening soil and controlling water:

Reason: If the air permeability of the potting soil is poor, water will easily accumulate in the potting soil, and the roots will not be able to breathe, which will easily cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Treatment method: Loosen the soil in time and control the moisture, and try to keep the potting soil in a warm and humid environment.

4. Prune frequently:

In daily life, you can regularly cut off the yellow leaves, and repot the plant in March each year to cut off the old roots and excess roots. You should change the pot after a period of cultivation to avoid the roots gathering together and affecting the absorption of nutrients.
