Why do hyacinth leaves turn yellow?

Why do hyacinth leaves turn yellow?

1. Too much watering

Cause: Excessive watering causes the roots of hyacinth to rot, which in turn causes the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: If there is water accumulation in the potting soil, drain it as soon as possible. And loosen the soil to speed up the evaporation of water. If the roots are already rotten, remove them and cut off the rotten roots. When watering, you should water less frequently to avoid the soil in the pot being too wet.

2. Insufficient nutrients

Reason: Hyacinth has a greater demand for fertilizer during the growing period, not only for better flowering, but also for the development of bulbs. Insufficient nutrients will naturally cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: If there is insufficient nutrients, fertilize the hyacinth in time. Generally, diluted compound fertilizer is used, and fertilizer is applied once before and after flowering in spring, and top dressing is applied once in winter. This will ensure better growth of the plants.

3. Light burns

Reason: During the high temperatures of summer, sunlight burns the leaves, causing them to turn yellow.

Solution: Provide timely shade in the summer to avoid the heat, and place the plant in a place with scattered light. At the same time, water can be sprayed on the leaves to achieve the purpose of cooling.

4. Poor ventilation

Reason: Poor ventilation will reduce the air quality, causing various diseases and pests, etc. It will also cause the plant to grow poorly and the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Move the hyacinth to a better ventilated area. It can be placed on the windowsill or balcony, and the windows can be opened appropriately for ventilation.
