Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of oleander

Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of oleander

1. Too much watering

1. Reason: Watering it too much will cause the problem of yellowing of the water, with new leaves being tender yellow and old leaves being dark yellow. Because of excessive watering, water accumulates in the potting soil, the roots lack oxygen and gradually rot, leading to the yellow leaf problem.

2. Treatment method: Stop watering immediately, loosen the soil or dig out part of the soil, being careful not to damage the roots. After drying, fill it with dry soil and water it on time and in appropriate amounts. It will get better after a period of time.

2. Insufficient light

1. Reason: Oleander is a light-loving plant. If the light is too weak or the light intensity is not enough during daily maintenance, yellow leaves may occur.

2. Treatment method: It is best not to plant it outdoors in the shade or in the shade under a big tree. When growing it at home, it is best to place it in a place with direct sunlight such as a balcony. Give it sufficient sunlight every day and the yellowing leaves will gradually improve.

3. Improper fertilization

1. Reason: Long-term lack of fertilizer or insufficient fertilizer will cause the oleander strips to be soft and the leaves to be thin and tender yellow. It may also be because the flowerpot is too small and lacks fertility, which can cause the soil to become compacted and restrict root growth, leading to poor absorption and causing yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: If such problems of fertilizer deficiency and poor absorption occur, it is necessary to loosen the soil and apply fertilizer. It is best to use decomposed liquid fertilizer, which is absorbed faster. If the branches are larger, you can change to a larger pot, which will be more conducive to the development of the root system and increase the ability to resist diseases and absorb nutrients.
