Succulents crawling with scale insects? Use these 7 methods and you can get rid of them in 3 days!

Elimination

When there are not many scale insects, such as a few fat scale insects on the stems and the back of leaves, it is not serious and you can just prick them to death with a needle, tweezers, toothpick or other sharp tools.

Water flushing

Use a pressure spray bottle or a tap water nozzle to spray water at the infested areas. If the water flow is strong enough, the scale insects on the surface can be directly washed away, but the removal will not be complete.

Vinegar Method

Dip a cotton swab in 500-fold diluted vinegar, then gently wipe the infested areas to wipe off and eliminate the scale insects. This is only applicable when the infestation is not serious.

Alcohol Law

If there are too many scale insects and they cover a large area on the leaves, you can use a cotton swab or brush dipped in 75% or more alcohol and repeatedly wipe the infested areas to effectively remove the scale insects.

Smoking

The fumigation method is to use mosquito coils. Put the meat in a larger plastic bag, put a plate of mosquito coils in it, light it, tie the bag, and leave a small gap for ventilation. After the mosquito coils are burned out, open the bag and you can see that a large number of scale insects have died.

Spraying

To completely cure scale insects, insecticides must be used. However, Huahua feels that the popular drugs on the market such as Huhuashen and Supusha do not kill insects thoroughly. It is best to use 2000~3000 times diluted 40% acetamiprid (Guoguang Acetochlor), which can greatly reduce the production of eggs and larvae.

Many flower lovers are worried that spraying pesticides will damage succulents. Huahua suggests that when spraying pesticides, try to make the concentration lower than the instructions, spray a small amount on the infested areas first, and then use it after seeing the effect. Remember to wear a mask when spraying.

Buried medicine method

You can directly sprinkle some Dx small white medicine in the potting soil next to the succulent. Depending on the diameter of the flower pot, choose 2g or 4g per pot, and then place it in a ventilated place. The effect is good and the efficacy lasts longer.

Reminder: When flower lovers buy succulents, they must check in advance for the presence of scale insects, otherwise they will infect healthy succulents.
