Pest and disease control of red plumeria

Pest and disease control of red plumeria

Diseases

The first is called "angular leaf spot," which is a fungal disease. This disease mainly affects the leaves of the plant. It is more common in spring and becomes more serious in July and August. In the early stage of the disease, we can observe some dark spots appearing on the leaves. If the condition continues to get worse, the spots may connect into irregular shapes with dark edges and dark brown inside. To treat this disease, we must first improve the living environment of the plants, such as replacing containers and substrates in time, applying fertilizers rich in elements such as N, P, K, etc. The next step is spraying the pesticide. We can choose Bordeaux solution with a concentration of 0.5% and spray it once every week or ten days.

The second disease is "powdery mildew", which is also a fungal disease. This disease is more likely to occur if the plant grows in an environment with high temperature, high humidity and poor ventilation for a long time. We can easily infer its symptoms from its name, which is the appearance of some white powdery substance on the leaves. We can choose 50 percent concentration of 800 times methyl thiophanate for prevention and control, spraying it once every ten days or so, generally two to three times in a row will be enough.

Pests

The first one is "red spider", which we may be more familiar with. Many plants may be harmed by it. In order to deal with it, we can use 100 to 200 times the solution of diazinon for prevention and control.

The second type is called "scale insects", which are also quite common. In order to completely eliminate them, we can use cypermethrin powder to spray them.
