Diseases and Pests of Anoectochilus roxburghii and Their Control

anthrax

This disease can occur at any time, but it is more likely to occur in the hot and rainy weather in summer. In the early stage of the disease, it will slowly spread from the front end of the leaves to the rhizome. It is brown at first and turns black later. If not treated in time, the whole plant may die.

Prevention and treatment methods

Similarly, change the maintenance environment first. An environment with good air circulation and bright light will reduce the occurrence of diseases. When the disease occurs, you can spray it with medicine.

Sclerotium rolfsii

This disease is very likely to occur during the rainy season. In the early stage of the disease, the base of the leaves will be covered with white mycelium, and the roots and stems will slowly rot. In severe cases, the entire plant may die.

Prevention and treatment methods

The main cause of this disease is poor air circulation, coupled with the rainy season, or the soil is too wet for a long time. Therefore, there must be a good ventilation and light-transmitting environment during maintenance, and the soil must not be damp for a long time or have water accumulation. When the disease is too severe, the entire plant must be destroyed. The soil can be used again only after it has been disinfected.

Scale insects

This pest is also called orchid lice. It is prone to occur in an environment with poor air circulation, high temperature and high humidity, and it reproduces very quickly.

Prevention and treatment methods

Change the maintenance environment and use medicine to sandblast when found. However, if the amount of pests is small, you can use tools to brush them off.
