Disease and insect pest control of Lipia orchid

Sheath Rust

Leaves infected with this disease usually have small raised bags on the upper and lower surfaces. Inside the bags are yellow, orange, rusty, or even black spores. Although this disease will not cause fatal damage to the plant and the leaves will not die, it will definitely affect the growth of the plant. Therefore, once you find that the leaves of this plant are diseased, you must cut off the leaves immediately and then use professional pesticides to prevent and control it.

Sclerotium rolfsii

When you see the name of this disease, you will roughly think of its symptoms. It is really like a filamentous substance wrapped around the leaves like silk. It often appears when the rainfall is heavy. In severe cases, it can also cause root rot. Once the disease is discovered, the top layer of soil containing the bacteria should be scraped off and disease-preventing powder such as lime should be sprinkled on. If you want to cure it completely, you must pay attention to the surrounding light and temperature. If the diseased plant is seriously ill, the whole plant must be burned.

anthrax

This disease can occur at many times of the year, but it is most serious when the temperature and water volume are relatively high. The spots first appear at the tip of the leaves and then slowly extend toward the rhizomes. They are brown at first and then gradually increase in number. In severe cases, they can cause the death of the entire plant. During the outbreak period, special pesticides can be used directly for spraying. Once every seven days or so, a total of 3-5 times will be enough.

Scale insects

The pests they are most susceptible to are scale insects, which we are relatively familiar with. They also reproduce faster when the temperature and humidity rise. You can spray them with pesticides when they just start to hatch, or scrape them off by hand, but this method is more suitable for friends with fewer pots.
