What to do if the fortune tree dies

What to do if the fortune tree dies

1. Dealing with root rot

If the trunk near the roots becomes soft, the bark has fallen off, and there is some secretion, it means that the root rot is very serious. At this time, the rotten roots need to be cut off immediately. After pulling out the plant, cut off the rotten parts, and saw off the entire plant if the roots are completely rotten. Then soak the remaining tree trunks in diluted potassium permanganate solution for a day and a night. If you don’t have it, you can use carbendazim instead.

2. Choose potting soil

The potting soil should be leaf mold or garden soil mixed with a certain amount of vermiculite. Before use, you can dry it in the sun to disinfect it to avoid bacterial infection of the wound. Loose and fertile soil is more conducive to rooting, and sticky soil should not be used.

3. Re-cutting

Apply rooting powder to the base of the trunk and plant it in new potting soil. Don't plant too deep, as this will cause the roots to easily touch the bottom of the pot and hinder growth. After planting, compact the soil and water it thoroughly.

4. Shade maintenance

Place the replanted money tree in a warm place, but not in direct sunlight, as it is not suitable for light at this time. Do not water too frequently. Water only when the soil is dry. Also, do not water with hard water. Tap water should be left to stand for a few days before use.
