Why are the leaves of the money tree turning black?

Why are the leaves of the money tree turning black?

1. Too much watering

Its leaves are thick and its underground stems are rich in water, making it drought-resistant. During the maintenance period, do not water too frequently or too much, otherwise the plant will not be able to absorb it. Over time, water will easily accumulate, affecting root breathing and causing the branches and leaves to turn black. Stop watering as soon as possible and move the plant to a well-ventilated place. After the water dries up and the plant recovers, reduce the frequency of watering. It is best to water it when the soil is dry and wet.

2. Too much light

Although it is a sun-loving plant, it cannot be exposed to direct sunlight outdoors for a long time. Over time, it will affect its metabolism and the leaves will gradually turn yellow and black. Cut off the yellow leaves as soon as possible and move the plant to a place with relatively soft light. Avoid strong sunlight in time and avoid direct sunlight.

3. Temperature discomfort

It likes warm environment and has a certain ability to withstand high temperatures, but is not cold-resistant. If the temperature is not controlled in time in the low temperature environment in winter, the plants are prone to frostbite, which will show up as yellow or black leaves. It should be moved to a warm place after the temperature drops, and the temperature should be controlled above 10 degrees. This way it will not be frostbitten and can safely survive the winter and grow normally.

4. Infection with pests

If the environment provided during management is not suitable, the plant will be easily infected by pests, and the leaves will turn black. Prune off infected branches and leaves as soon as possible to prevent further infection. Also spray insecticide to sterilize thoroughly. If the soil is infected, it is recommended to remove the pot and change the soil as soon as possible.
