How to grow balcony celery

Seedling cultivation

Celery is generally grown by seedling cultivation. We first need to wrap the celery seeds in gauze and then soak them in clean water. Generally, 24 hours is enough. After the seeds have absorbed water, put them in a cool environment to dry the surface moisture. Then you can place the seeds in a box covered with paper and germinate them in a ventilated and cool place. The suitable temperature range is between 10 and 25 degrees. The seeds should be cleaned every day during germination to prevent them from getting moldy. They can be sown after 7 days.

Planting

Choose a suitable container, generally a flat-bottom container of 5 cm deep and 10 x 20 cm, and put in soil mixed with organic fertilizer. The soil should preferably be loose, fertile and moist. After watering, you can sow the seeds. Pay attention to the spacing when placing them, about 2 cm. Then cover with a layer of soil less than 1 cm thick, cover with plastic sheet and wait for seedlings to emerge.

Transplanting

After the seedlings emerge, you need to spray water frequently. When the seedlings grow to 6 to 8 cm and have three or five leaves, you should transplant them. At this time, you need a flat-bottomed container with a depth of at least 25 cm, put in 20 cm thick soil, wet the previous substrate, then pull out the seedlings and plant them in the flowerpot.

Maintenance

After planting, you need to fertilize frequently, mainly nitrogen fertilizer, about once every ten days, and water it in time. It will mature in about forty days.
