Here are two simple and easy ways to eat it:

Gorgon Fruit and Eight Treasures Porridge

Ingredients: 6g each of Euryale ferox, Poria cocos, Chinese yam, lotus seeds, lentils, Codonopsis pilosula, Atractylodes macrocephala, and Coix seeds, 150g of polished rice

Method: Put all the other eight ingredients except polished japonica rice into the pot, add water and cook until done; then pick out the Atractylodes macrocephala and Codonopsis pilosula, add the polished japonica rice, and cook until it becomes porridge. Add sugar for seasoning when eating.

This method allows the body to absorb nutrients well, thereby nourishing the body. Regular and moderate consumption can improve physical fitness.

Gorgon Fruit (Powder) Walnut Porridge

Ingredients: 30g Euryale ferox, 6 red dates, 15g walnut meat

(Note: Grind the water chestnuts into powder, remove the pits from the red dates, and crush the walnut meat)

Method: First, mix the water chestnut powder into a paste with cold boiled water, then add boiling water and stir gently. After completion, pour it into the pot together with red dates and walnut meat and cook until it becomes a paste. Add appropriate amount of sugar and it is ready to eat.

This practice can strengthen the body, consolidate the kidneys, benefit the spleen, etc.

Precautions

Postpartum women cannot eat water chestnuts, but pregnant women and babies can eat them. No matter which method you use to eat water chestnuts, they must be cooked over low heat until they are soft, and you should not eat too much at one time. When eating, chew slowly to make sure the water chestnuts are completely broken down before swallowing. Among them, people with poor bowel movements and poor digestion should not eat it.
