Medicinal value

Peach blossom itself is the name of a traditional Chinese medicine. It is also called triangle wind, wild picking flower, and world hammer in traditional Chinese medicine.

Indications: The main effects are clearing away heat and detoxifying, promoting blood circulation and reducing swelling, dispelling wind and removing dampness, etc. It is mainly used to treat snake bites, boils, mastitis, throat paralysis, swelling and pain from falls, irregular menstruation, leucorrhea, stranguria, diarrhea, dysentery, rheumatic pain and colds.

Medicinal parts: The entire plant can be used as medicine.

Harvesting of plants: Except for the roots, other parts can be harvested at any time. Just clean the plants, chop them up, dry them in a cool place, and store them for later use. The roots should be harvested in winter. Dig out the entire root, try not to damage the root, then rinse off the surface soil with clean water, cut into slices, dry and store for later use.

Usage and Dosage: For the treatment of cold symptoms: 24 grams of ground peach blossom root, boiled in water and taken; for the treatment of rheumatic pain symptoms: 30 grams of Kunming Millettia reticulata, 30 grams of Liangmianzhen, 30 grams of Tripterygium wilfordii, 30 grams of ground peach blossom, boiled in water and taken; the above is for oral administration, this plant can also be applied externally to treat symptoms such as pus extraction and carbuncle: take an appropriate amount of ground peach blossom root, crush it into powder, and apply it to the affected area.

Economic Value

In addition to its medicinal uses, the bark of this plant is a good choice for making hemp rope-like items.
