How to propagate the tea

Its commonly used propagation methods are generally cutting propagation or layering propagation, which are similar to roses, but its management is a little more extensive than that of roses. It is best to use the cutting method for home potted plants. Cut a few branches directly from outdoors and insert them into flower pots, one plant per pot.

How to water the tea

The camellia is drought-tolerant but afraid of waterlogging. From budding in early spring to flowering, it needs to be watered according to weather conditions, generally 3 to 4 times a month, to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Pay attention to watering during the initial period. If watering is not timely, the number of flowers will be greatly reduced.

The temperature is higher in summer and water evaporates quickly, so it is appropriate to water 2 to 3 times.

Water 2 to 3 times in autumn as appropriate, and do not let water accumulate at the roots, otherwise the roots will easily rot.

Fertilization method of tea

When planting for the first time, you can apply enough base fertilizer, and when it comes to the flowering period, you can apply appropriate fertilizer.

Generally, top dressing should be done 1 to 2 times during the bud formation period, using diluted cake fertilizer water, which can ensure good flower color and long flowering period.

How to prune the shrub

Prune once a year before spring buds appear. Prune moderately. Depending on the size of the flowerpot, keep the branches within an aesthetically pleasing range and cut off branches that are too long or too dense. By encouraging the sprouting of new branches and constantly renewing old plants, the plant can bloom prosperously every year.

At the same time, during the pruning process, check the side buds on the branches and keep 3 to 5 buds on each side branch.
