Rainforest Sundew

Rainforest sundew is a large category, which can be further divided into sundew of Adiro, sundew of Nephrolepis, etc. This type of sundew grows in mountainous areas with heavy rain in summer and high air humidity. Their growing environment also determines that we need to provide sufficient water and maintain relatively high air humidity when cultivating this type of sundew.

Tropical sundew

This is a large category divided according to the growing environment. The varieties of sundew under this category include large meat-patty sundew, fine silver-haired sundew, red peacock sundew, small sundew, broad-leaved sundew, etc. In fact, only a small portion of the sundew species actually grow in tropical regions.

Subtropical Drosera

The varieties of sundew that grow in the subtropics include leaf sundew, Cape sundew, Alice sundew, mountain sundew, charming sundew, downy sundew, etc. The living terrain and environment of sundews grown in subtropical regions are very diverse. The sundews in this area generally grow lushly in spring and summer and hibernate in winter. However, due to the influence of the Mediterranean climate, the sundews in this area grow in winter and hibernate in summer.

Drosera

This type of sundew includes thread-leaved sundew, silky sundew, English sundew, round-leaved sundew, imperial sundew, etc. This type of sundew has leaves that grow in succession, are longer, or have longer petioles. The insect-catching leaves will wither in winter. It grows slowly in winter and resumes growth quickly when the weather warms up.

Mini Drosera

This type of sundew includes shiny sundew, dwarf sundew, bearded sundew, long-column sundew, scorpion sundew, etc. The plants of this type of sundew are relatively small, hence the name. Their stems are relatively long, and the flowers are very pretty and lovely. They can bloom all year round and grow winter buds in winter.

Drosera bulbifera

This type of sundew mainly includes large-leaf sundew, small-leaf sundew, broad-legged sundew, shallow-leaf sundew, etc. This type of sundew grows in areas with hot and dry summers and cold and humid winters. They grow spherical rhizomes underground to cope with the hot and dry summer.
