Common varieties of black rice

Common varieties of black rice

Candela microphylla

This variety of black rice is different from the original variant because its leaves are relatively small, ranging from about 1cm to 4cm, with a width of about 1cm, and all parts of its plant are basically hairless or have very little hair. This variety is generally produced in southern China, such as Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Guangxi, and grows under mountain forests at altitudes between 800 and 1,300 meters. This variant of black rice has great value. Science is developing, so the mutated varieties can better meet people's needs and allow plants to better reflect their own value.

Candela obovate

This variety is different from the original one in that the leaves are smaller and in the shape of an inverted egg, generally about 1.3 cm long and about 1 cm wide. Its top is blunt and round, with many teeth on the edge, and the bottom is wedge-shaped, gradually narrowing. It is generally produced in the southern part of Guangdong, mostly growing in the grass on the roadside. This type specimen was collected from Lianhua Mountain in Haifeng.

Pale red candle

This variety differs from the original variant in the color of its flowers. Its flowers are light pink instead of white. When it blooms, it is all light pink, which is particularly spectacular and beautiful. However, its growing environment is particularly harsh. It grows in bushes on hillsides or on rocks. Therefore, this variety is particularly cold and heat-resistant, and is more likely to survive. Its value is also very considerable. This variety of black rice is often produced in Fenyi, Jiangxi and Pingyang, Zhejiang in my country. Therefore, different varieties are produced in different places, depending on what temperature conditions they are more suitable for survival. Therefore, the varieties are different for this reason.
