Breeding methods and precautions of hairy starfish

Breeding methods and precautions of hairy starfish

1. Breeding methods

1. Choose a pot

The first step in raising hairy starfish is to choose a suitable flower pot. You can choose a stoneware pot or a plastic pot. First of all, the coarse clay pot has good permeability, so there is no need to worry about water accumulation in the pot. Moreover, the clay pot is relatively stable and there is no need to worry about it being blown down by the wind. The second choice is plastic basins, which are cheap, light, and save space, but be careful not to place them in windy places as they can easily be blown away.

2. Soil preparation

The soil for breeding hairy starfish can be made by mixing perlite and slag, and some charcoal can also be added. This kind of soil has very good water permeability.

3. Watering

Water the hairy starfish right after planting it. You can water it in small amounts multiple times, but not in large quantities at one time.

4. Fertilization

It is best to apply base fertilizer once when planting hairy starfish, which can promote the rooting and development of the hairy starfish. After that, the hairy starfish will not have a high demand for fertilizer, so you can apply fertilizer depending on the situation.

5. Medication

In the process of breeding hairy starfish, although the probability of disease and pest occurrence is very small, it is best to apply pesticides once every two months for prevention.

2. Precautions

1. Temperature and light. Hairy starfish like warm and dry environment and need plenty of sunlight. The temperature of its growth environment should be controlled between 15 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature must not be lower than 5 degrees Celsius, otherwise the hairy starfish will be frozen.

2. Maintenance in summer and winter. In summer, the main thing is to place the hairy starfish in a place where the sun can't reach and where ventilation is good. In winter, the hairy starfish should be placed in a sunny place. The temperature of the living environment of the hairy starfish should not be lower than 10 degrees Celsius. If it is cloudy and rainy for consecutive days, you can use light to remedy the light problem.

3. Watering. It is not suitable to water the hairy starfish in large quantities or by spraying or pouring water. Just water it thoroughly and ensure that the soil in the pot is not too dry.
