Cultivation methods and precautions of hydroponic ivy

Cultivation methods and precautions of hydroponic ivy

1. Temperature

It prefers a warm environment, and the most suitable environment is 20 to 25 degrees. It cannot tolerate stuffiness, but has a strong tolerance to cold, so we can put it in the room, ventilate it in the summer, and control its temperature above ten degrees in winter and not let it fall below five degrees.

2. Lighting

It prefers sunlight, but can also tolerate shade. So we can consider placing it in a semi-shaded place, so that its internodes will be shorter, the leaves will grow more uniformly, and the color will be brighter. In spring and autumn, we can still let it see the sun in the morning and evening, and then choose to put it in a shaded place for a period of time. This can not only prevent direct sunlight and sunburn, but also allow it to grow vigorously.

3. Pillar

The pillar is very important for it, because it needs to grow upwards, so it is better to use a pillar to support it. Moreover, its vines hang down naturally and elegantly, so it is very suitable to be placed in the living room or studio.

4. Notes

It should be topped off after the Spring Festival so that it will have more branches. And if it has grown for many years, it should be pruned to remove the dead and sickly branches. In daily maintenance, you should also sprinkle some spray on its leaves so that their leaves will not dry out. And you must change the water frequently, preferably once every one or two days, so that it will not rot. Every time you change the water, add nutrient solution to it. Before rooting, it cannot be exposed to light, only scattered light.
