Breeding methods and precautions of Zephyranthes

Breeding methods and precautions of Zephyranthes

1. Choose the right flower pot

It is quite easy to grow Zephyranthes. When choosing a pot, an ordinary one will do, but the size of the pot depends on the size of the spheres. If there are many large spheres, you can use a larger pot. Usually, a 20 to 30 cm pot can hold 5 to 6 Zephyranthes. If it is a larger pot, you can plant 10.

2. Suitable soil

It does not have high requirements for potting soil. If it is potted, the soil needs to be a little fertile. Here, sandy loam is mainly used to ensure its normal growth.

3. Proper planting

When planting it, the method is very important. First, you need to dig holes along the edge of the flowerpot. The size of the holes should be 3 to 5 cm. Then put a plant in a hole. After that, you can cover it with soil. The thickness is best at 2 to 3 cm.

4. Water appropriately

It does not require much water, but the soil must be kept moist and not too dry. But it cannot be too moist. It needs to be drained regularly and no water can accumulate to prevent root rot. At the same time, it is best to choose the morning and evening for watering.

5. Apply fertilizer appropriately

When adding fertilizer to it, mainly organic fertilizer, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer or compost, but the number of applications should not be too many. Once every 2 to 3 months is best, so that its flowers can bloom more and more beautifully.

6. Suitable light and temperature

The key to growing Zephyranthes is to have appropriate light and temperature. It should be placed in a sunny place, otherwise it will affect its growth, and the temperature should be kept between 29 and 30 degrees.

7. Prevent pests and diseases

Although it has few diseases and pests, if the soil in the pot is not fully decomposed, it will attract insects such as whiteflies. At this time, it is necessary to spray it with a pesticide with low toxicity to kill the insects.
