Breeding methods and precautions of Oplina

Breeding methods and precautions of Oplina

1. Soil

It is best to use loose, well-drained soil for growing Oplina, which can be made with peat soil or granular soil.

2. Watering

In spring and autumn when there is sufficient sunlight, ensure sufficient water. In winter when the weather is cold, control the amount of watering. It is best to wait until the soil becomes dry before watering.

3. Lighting

It can accept half-sun and full-sun sunlight in spring, autumn and winter. When the sunlight is strong in summer, it needs appropriate shade. If the light is too strong, its leaves will become thicker and the white powder will be thicker; insufficient light will cause the leaves to grow too long, which greatly affects its appearance.

4. Temperature

The suitable growth temperature for Oplina is 10-25℃. When the temperature exceeds 30℃ in summer, it needs proper shade. The temperature in winter must be controlled above 5℃ so that it can survive the winter. Lower temperatures may cause frostbite.

5. Notes

1. Pests: Common pests include scale insects, red spiders and whiteflies. They should be cleaned up in time after discovery. If the infestation is serious, they should be sprayed with pesticides.

2. Root rot: If you water too much or do not deworm, root rot is likely to occur. The rotten parts should be cut off in time and the knives should be disinfected to avoid transmission to other plants.
