Never dig up wild orchids!

Recently, many people are selling wild orchids on the Internet. Some people call their orchids "Xiashan Orchids". Basically, they can dig up about 100 plants a day. About one orchid has 5-8 seedlings, and they are usually sold at a price of 1.5 yuan per seedling.

On some live streaming platforms, some people live broadcast the process of digging orchids in the mountains, and even received a lot of attention. One seller said that he basically accepts orders all year round and can sell tens of thousands of yuan a year!

Why can’t we dig wild orchids?

In recent years, the orchid market has been booming, and many flower lovers are pursuing good varieties of orchids, which has led people to dig them in the wild. However, since 2017, 90 species of orchids have been listed as endangered species, so everyone should never go to the mountains to dig them again!

Stop cutting down wild rhododendrons!

Some time ago, many flower lovers posted pictures on their WeChat Moments, saying that their friends gave them dried azalea branches, which would bloom as long as they were placed in water. For a while, they were sought after by many novice flower growers.

Many people searched and bought it online. It was only 20 yuan per bunch, which was really cheap. Moreover, it was known as the dead wood blooming flower, which made many flower lovers tempted to buy one and take it home.

Why not buy wild rhododendrons?

The dead branches and flowers sold on the market are actually rhododendrons from the Greater Khingan Range and Lesser Khingan Range. It grows very slowly, taking about a year to grow 10 cm. If it is severely cut down, it will cause serious damage to the local ecosystem. Over time, it may lead to the extinction of local azalea species. So don’t buy it in the future!

Don’t buy succulents from overseas anymore!

A while ago, customs seized a lot of smuggled succulents. Upon inspection, they found that these succulents were actually hallucinogenic, and they had no quarantine certificates at all, but were directly smuggled into the country! Don’t you think it’s scary?

This succulent is called Silver Crown Jade, and its price is not low. One can even sell for several thousand yuan. However, this kind of succulent does not have an import quarantine certificate at all and is basically smuggled back from abroad.

Why can’t you buy succulents from overseas?

Silver crown jade contains an alkaloid called mescaline. If accidentally ingested, it will cause hallucinations, which can lead to mental disorder over time. In severe cases, it can even endanger life safety. So don't buy the kind purchased from overseas!
