How to grow crabapple

1. Soil

If you want to grow crabapples, you should choose soil suitable for its growth. It is best to use loose soil with good drainage. For home potted plants, you can mix leaf mold, peat soil and river sand.

2. Watering

Begonia is relatively drought-resistant, and there should not be excess water in the potting soil. Normally, the soil only needs to be slightly moist. The soil cannot be too dry, as the roots will not be able to breathe and will easily dry out. Severe water shortage may even lead to the death of the plant. In spring, you can water the plants every 3-5 days, in summer, you can water them every 1-2 days, in autumn, you can water them every 4-6 days, and in winter, you can extend the watering time to half a month.

3. Lighting

Begonia needs sufficient sunlight for normal growth. If the light exposure time is too short, it will affect its normal growth. In the hot and humid summer weather, you need to shade it to lower the temperature and avoid strong sunlight. In the winter, you can give it enough sunlight.

4. Fertilization

In autumn, the leaves of begonias will fall off. At this time, more fertilizer should be applied, preferably more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. When flower buds form in spring, it should be applied with fully decomposed organic liquid fertilizer. During the growth period, the fertilizer concentration can be appropriately increased.

5. Pruning branches and leaves

The crabapple flowers need to be pruned properly after they fall leaves and before they sprout, and dead and diseased branches should be pruned away, and branches that grow too long should be shortened.
