How many times a year do lilies bloom?

1. How many times a year does it bloom?

It has always symbolized a happy marriage and a beautiful family, so it is loved by many people, but its flowering period is only once a year, from November to early February of the following year. But if you take good care of it, you can extend its flowering period.

2. Maintenance during flowering period

1. Choose the right soil

It has extremely high requirements for potting soil. Slightly acidic soil that is rich in humus, loose, fertile and well-ventilated is best. Do not use clay. After the potting soil is prepared, you need to let it sit for a while and disinfect it properly, then put a layer of small stones at the bottom of the pot to facilitate drainage.

2. Proper lighting

It is very cold-resistant and very afraid of heat. It usually grows well in a cool and humid environment, so it cannot be exposed to strong light, especially in summer. It needs proper sunshade, but it cannot be exposed to insufficient light for a long time, otherwise it will grow poorly.

3. Suitable temperature

The most suitable temperature for its growth is 15 to 25 degrees. When it blooms, you can move it to a cool place, or slightly block the sunlight and provide appropriate cooling, which can greatly extend its flowering period. In addition, it is very afraid of high temperatures, so the temperature cannot be higher than 30 degrees, otherwise the stems and leaves will become withered and yellow.

4. Proper fertilization and watering

Usually, when summer comes, it is the period of its most vigorous growth. At this time, the amount of watering should be increased to keep the soil moist at all times. As for fertilizer, it should be mainly composed of decomposed liquid fertilizer, which should be applied once every 10 to 15 days. When flower buds appear, a little potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution can also be applied, and 1 to 2 times is best. This way, it can bloom more and the flowering period will be longer.
