Difference between hairy radish and mountain radish

1. Leaf Difference

The leaves of the hairy radish are hard, papery, ovate-lanceolate or lanceolate in shape, with a long and gradually pointed tip and a blunt or rounded base. They are about 8 to 15 cm long and 2.5 to 5 cm wide, with entire margins.

The leaves of the mountain ash are opposite, leathery, elliptical or obovate, 3 to 8 cm long and about 1 to 4 cm wide. The tip of the leaves is rounded or obtuse and the base is broadly cuneate.

2. Flower Differences

The inflorescence is hairy and terminal. The bracts of the flowers are halberd-shaped, membranous, and sharp at the apex. The pedicel is about 5 mm long. The calyx tube is 1 to 2 cm long and 1 to 2 cm in diameter, with 5 lobes. The petals are pink or purple-red, usually with 5 petals, and are broadly obovate.

The flowers of the mountain ash have long stalks, are usually solitary, are purple-red, have a diameter of 2 to 4 cm, have 5 petals, and are obovate.
