Goldfish Chlorophytum breeding methods and precautions

Goldfish Chlorophytum breeding methods and precautions

1. Temperature

The goldfish plant lives in the tropics, so it has relatively high temperature requirements and is not very cold-resistant. Generally speaking, the most suitable temperature is around ten to twenty-eight degrees. Be sure to protect it from the cold in winter, otherwise it will be damaged by frost.

2. Soil

Because the plant has fleshy roots, it has relatively high requirements for soil. In addition to basic requirements such as air permeability, nutrition, drainage, etc., it is also required to be acidic. Mix leaf mold, garden soil and river sand (perlite) in the ratio of four to three to two.

3. Light

The goldfish plant has certain requirements for light, but the light should not be too strong. There may be relatively strong light in summer and autumn, so try to avoid it. However, in winter, you need to provide good light as much as possible to help the plants survive the winter.

4. Fertilizer

The first is the base fertilizer mixed into the soil during planting. These fertilizers have a great impact on the subsequent growth. Base fertilizer can be organic fertilizer or slow-release fertilizer. In addition, during the growing season, mainly in spring and autumn, top dressing is needed, generally once every half a month. Liquid fertilizer can be used, and the concentration should be lower.

5. Notes

In an environment with poor ventilation and dry air, pests such as scale insects may appear, so timely prevention and control are necessary. When spraying pesticides, you also need to increase ventilation and increase humidity appropriately. These measures can help eliminate pests.
