Cultivation methods and precautions of Western Rhododendron

1. Breeding methods

1. Soil: It prefers loose, fertile and well-drained acidic soil, in which the plant will grow and develop better.

2. Light: Azalea should be given more light in the early stage of flowering, and appropriate shade should be provided when the light is strong at noon. The plant should be exposed to more sunlight when it is sprouting leaves and branches, but avoid long-term exposure to strong sunlight.

3. Watering: It prefers a shady and humid environment, and the soil in the pot should not be too dry. It requires more water during the flowering period. Water it once every 4-5 days in winter and once every 2-3 days in summer.

4. Temperature: The suitable growth temperature for the plant is between 15-25 degrees. When the winter gets colder, it should be moved indoors for cultivation, and the indoor temperature needs to be controlled at around 15 degrees.

5. Fertilization: Light fertilizer should be used as the main fertilizer. After the flowers fade, topdressing should be applied two or three times, mainly nitrogen fertilizer. Before flowering, fertilizer mainly based on phosphorus should be applied.

2. Precautions

Pruning should be done before May after flowering, and no pruning should be done after summer.
