Agarwood tree price

Agarwood tree price

1. Price Introduction

The price of agarwood trees is calculated based on their diameter. Generally, a tree of about 20 centimeters can be sold for around 1,500 yuan. The trees themselves are not valuable, but they have great commercial value because they can produce agarwood. Agarwood is made by wounding the tree and waiting for the resin it secretes to solidify.

2. Methods of artificial incense making

1. Hole drilling method: Select a 5-8 year old agarwood tree and drill a hole in the trunk. The diameter of the hole is about 3-4 cm, not too deep, and the distance between the holes is kept at 20 cm. Be careful not to chisel the tree trunk, and seal the hole with yellow mud after chiseling. In this way, resin will be secreted near the small hole, and it usually takes several years to form incense. After the wounds of agarwood heal, lumps will form and agarwood will form in these places.

2. Cutting method: Cutting is more direct than drilling, but it also causes great damage to the tree. Improper control can easily lead to the death of the agarwood tree. Generally, 8-10 year old trees are selected and the wound is cut two meters above the ground with a depth of about 4 centimeters. After that, just like the hole-drilling method, you just need to wait for a few years to collect the incense.

3. Artificial inoculation method: Select old trees over 8 years old. On the windproof side of the trunk, use a sharp tool to chisel a hole about every 40 cm, the depth of which should reach the center of the trunk. Then fill the wound with artificial bacteria and wrap it with plastic film. The agarwood can be harvested after a few years of growth, and the quality of the agarwood will improve over time.
