How to raise a red dancer

How to raise a red dancer

1. Breeding methods

1. Soil: Red Dancer does not have high requirements for soil. If you're planting in a pot, use one with holes in the bottom. Choosing loose, fertile, acidic soil will be more helpful for its growth.

2. Sunlight: Red Dancer grows best in an environment with sufficient light. But in summer, it needs proper shade to prevent direct sunlight from sunburning its leaves.

3. Water: Red Dancer needs sufficient water during the growing period. Although it is relatively drought-tolerant, it needs to be watered once the soil surface is dry to avoid poor growth due to lack of water.

4. Fertilization: The fertilization of Red Dancer needs to be controlled. In summer, apply fertilizer with thin medicinal cake fertilizer water once a month. In autumn, potassium fertilizer is mainly used to promote redding of leaves.

2. Breeding techniques

The main method of reproduction of Red Dancer is grafting. It is usually carried out in spring, with maple or Japanese maple as the rootstock. After grafting, the buds on the rootstock should be removed to ensure that nutrients are supplied to the scion, which is more conducive to its growth.

3. Pest and disease control

1. Diseases: The main diseases are brown spot and powdery mildew. The diseased branches and leaves need to be removed, and then sprayed with carbendazim solution once every 10-15 days. The plant will recover after one month.

2. Pests: Common pests include the yellow thorn moth and the glabripennis beetle. The yellow thorn moth usually appears at night and can be killed by luring it with light. Longhorn beetles feed on leaves and bark, so they can be killed by spraying with dimethoate or malathion.
