Are peony flowers afraid of freezing?

Are peony flowers afraid of freezing?

1. Are you afraid of freezing?

Peony is a plant with good cold resistance. It is not afraid of freezing, but the temperature cannot be too low. Generally, they can survive the winter normally. In the southern part of our country, they can even survive the winter directly. Under normal circumstances, it can accept the temperature of -30℃. However, in order to allow it to overwinter more safely, it is better to pay some attention.

After entering winter, the above-ground part of the peony may wither, but the root system is not easily frozen. However, if you are in the very northern areas, you still need to pay attention to keeping warm in winter.

2. Precautions

1. In some colder areas, it is recommended that flower lovers move it indoors and find a place with light. Note that the room temperature should be around 0℃, and you can move it out in the spring of the following year.

2. If you are in a place that is not too cold, you can bury it in the soil in a leeward place, which will also help it survive the winter smoothly. Again, wait until spring to dig out and maintain normal care.
