Cultivation methods and precautions of Shengdi

Cultivation methods and precautions of Shengdi

1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: It has strong adaptability to soil and can be planted in general soil. However, it has a characteristic, which is that it is afraid of waterlogging. Therefore, when choosing soil to plant it, you must choose soil with good drainage.

2. Watering: Control the amount of watering. If you water too much, it will cause root rot, especially in the later stages of growth. You only need to water until the soil surface is slightly moist. When watering in the early stage of growth, make sure to water the soil completely wet. Because the plant consumes a lot of water during the growth period, only by watering the soil thoroughly can its needs be met.

3. Fertilization: The soil consumes nutrients very quickly, especially during the growth period, when the demand for nutrients is very high. Fertilization should be done with a nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer, which can meet the needs of the plants in all aspects. When it reaches the middle of the growth period, human feces and urine can be used for fertilization. The frequency of fertilization is about once a month.

4. Light: Bright light is very important for its growth. If there is insufficient light, the plant will have yellow leaves or leaf fall. A moderate amount of light is enough. Too much light will be detrimental to the growth of the plant. Just ensure five hours of sufficient light every day.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Thinning: When the seedlings of the plant grow to about ten centimeters, it is time to start thinning. Only leave the best growing seedling in each hole, and cut the others close to the ground. Except for the flower buds that are to be kept for seeds, the rest of the flower buds should be removed in time to avoid unnecessary nutrient consumption.

2. Weeding: In the early stage of growth, the seedlings are relatively small. In order to avoid damaging the roots of the plants, shallow weeding is sufficient. After that, manual weeding is required to avoid accidental damage to the plants.

3. Problem Diagnosis

1. Roots stop developing: Roots stop developing mostly because of insufficient nutrients, and nutrients need to be added.

2. Yellowing of branches and leaves: Yellowing of branches and leaves is probably caused by excessive watering. You need to stop watering temporarily and start watering again after the soil is completely dry.

IV. Other issues

1. Edibility: Shengdi is a medicine and cannot be eaten directly.

2. Is it suitable for home cultivation: It is not suitable for home cultivation.
