Differences between daffodils and amaryllis

1. Different bulbs

Daffodils and Lycoris look similar, but they are different. The bulbs of daffodils are relatively large, and are covered with a purple-red film, which looks darker in color. If you are simply buying bulbs, you can judge from this aspect.

The bulb of Lycoris is relatively thin and nearly spherical in shape. The film wrapped outside is brownish yellow. The color looks relatively light and is not as dark as the bulb of daffodil.

2. Different leaves

The leaves of daffodils are flat and appear to be relatively wide, with a length of about 20-40 cm and a width of about 8-15 mm, which are wider than the leaves of the latter.

The leaves of Lycoris radiata are relatively narrow, in the shape of narrow ribbons or linear thin ribbons. They are about 15 cm long and 0.5 cm wide, and the overall color is dark green.

3. Different flowers

The flowering period of daffodils is around January and February. The flowers are generally white with yellow in the middle. After research and development and cultivation, they have blue, green, red, yellow and other colors.

The colors of Lycoris radiata are mostly white or red.
