The difference between small-leafed banyan and tiger-skinned banyan, are they the same plant?

The difference between small-leafed banyan and tiger-skinned banyan, are they the same plant?

1. The difference between small-leaf fig and tiger-skin fig

The small-leaved fig and the tiger-skin fig are not the same plant. The small-leaved fig is a positive plant and a tree belonging to the genus Ficus in the family Moraceae, also known as the evergreen. There are certain differences in maintenance between it and the tiger fig.

Soil: The small-leaf fig is relatively strong in nature and is not very strict about the choice of substrate. It can use coconut coir as the culture soil, or sandy loam mixed with coal slag. Tiger fig has certain requirements for the soil. It must be loose, breathable, and well-drained, and not too sticky. You can use pine needle soil, or add an appropriate amount of perlite to the peat soil.

Light: Tiger fig likes to grow in an environment with sufficient light, so it must be maintained in a well-lit and bright environment. The small-leaf banyan also likes the sun, but can also tolerate partial shade, so it is more suitable for a maintenance environment with more scattered light.

Temperature: The suitable temperature for the growth of small-leaf banyan is between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius, and it is relatively resistant to high temperatures. Tiger fig likes to grow in a warm environment, and the most suitable temperature for its growth is between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius.

Watering: Small-leaf banyan likes moisture and has a relatively large demand for water, especially during its growth period, it must be ensured that there is enough water. The water demand of Tiger Ficus microcarpa is relatively normal, and it generally only needs to be watered after the soil becomes dry.

2. Is it the same plant?

The small-leaved fig is also known as the evergreen, which is a positive plant of the genus Ficus in the Moraceae family and belongs to the species of Ficus elegant, so it is not the same plant as the tiger skin fig.
