Is the multi-headed chrysanthemum a greenhouse flower? Can it be placed outdoors in winter?

1. Is it a greenhouse flower?

1. Northern region: In the cold northern regions, chrysanthemums need to be moved into warm indoor areas for cultivation, otherwise the plants will be frostbitten, so they are greenhouse flowers in the northern regions. Its suitable growth temperature is between 15-25 degrees. If the temperature drops below minus five degrees Celsius, the plants will be frozen and stop growing. Staying in a low temperature environment of minus 5 degrees for a long time will cause the plant to die.

2. Southern region: If the temperature in the southern region is not lower than minus 5 degrees Celsius in winter, it can be maintained outdoors. For example, in the southern region, chrysanthemums grown outdoors in flower beds can survive the winter without special management. In most parts of the south, you don't need to move the plants indoors when growing multi-headed chrysanthemums. Therefore, in these places, chrysanthemums are considered outdoor flowers and trees.

2. How to keep it in winter

1. Northern region: When the temperature is below minus 5 degrees Celsius, the plants need to be moved to a warm place indoors for maintenance in time. In addition, the amount of watering needs to be reduced in winter, or no watering is required, and the soil in the pot should be kept as dry as possible to prevent excessive water from freezing the soil and affecting the normal growth of the plant. When the indoor temperature is still too low, you can cover the plants with plastic film to keep them warm.

2. Southern region: As long as the temperature is not lower than minus 5 degrees Celsius, there is no need to change its breeding environment and normal maintenance will be sufficient. However, in winter, the growth of plants slows down, and the demand for water and nutrients decreases, so the amount of watering and fertilization needs to be reduced.
