Does Monstera bloom? How to promote flowering?

1. Is it blooming?

Usually we keep Monstera at home for viewing its leaves. In fact, it can bloom, but flowering is uncommon and the chance of blooming is very small. Sometimes it may take many years to bloom, especially in the northern region where the climate is relatively cold, and the possibility of flowering is even smaller. The flowering period of Monstera is from August to September every year, and the flowering time is not fixed. The appearance of the flowers is very peculiar, belonging to the spadix inflorescence. The flower buds are relatively large, wrapping the flower spikes inside. The color is yellow-white, giving people a fresh and elegant feeling, and looks very warm. The blooming of Monstera is a good omen and has very good implications.

2. How to promote flowering

1. Suitable temperature: Monstera prefers a warm growing environment. The best growth temperature is maintained at around 20-25 degrees Celsius. Maintaining a suitable temperature can promote healthy growth and promote flowering as soon as possible.

2. Appropriate light: Although Monstera is very shade-tolerant, it needs appropriate light. It should be placed in scattered light and away from strong light to meet the conditions for flowering.

3. Maintain humidity: In addition to daily root watering, regular spraying is also required to increase air humidity.

4. Cultivate aerial roots: During maintenance, aerial roots should be cultivated, and then buried in the potting soil to increase nutrient absorption.

5. Reasonable fertilization: Pay attention to reasonable fertilization during the growing period, and add a little phosphorus and potassium fertilizers before flowering.
