How to fertilize bicolor jasmine

How to fertilize bicolor jasmine

Fertilization method for bicolor jasmine according to season

Spring and Summer

These two seasons are the peak growth seasons for bicolor jasmine, which requires sufficient nutrients. Because the weather is relatively dry, liquid fertilizer is mainly used for fertilization, and fertilizer and water are applied 2 to 4 times depending on the growth situation. If you choose granular fertilizer, you can dig a small hole around the flowerpot, bury the fertilizer in it, and then water it thoroughly. The disadvantage is that the amount of granular fertilizer is not easy to control, and the roots may rot easily if you are not careful.

When fertilizing, follow the principle of "fertilizer - clean water - fertilizer - clean water". The interval between fertilization and watering is 1 to 4 days, depending on the weather conditions. The cycle will be shorter on sunny or hot days, longer on rainy or cold days, or no watering.

winter

In winter, bicolor jasmine enters a dormant period, and the main task is to control water and fertilizer. After winter and before spring, just apply liquid fertilizer once according to the above method, and no watering is needed.

After the flowers fade

Bicolor jasmine consumes a lot of nutrients when it blooms, so it needs to be replenished in time after the flowers fade, and watered with a thin layer of cake fertilizer water. After 10 days, apply liquid phosphorus and potassium fertilizer again, and spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution on the leaves in combination with watering to promote the recovery of the plant after flowering.

Dormant period

The bicolor jasmine should be moved indoors for maintenance in November every year. Before that, potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution should be applied once to enhance the plant's resistance and avoid frostbite in winter. No need to fertilize during the winter!
