How to repot roses

Time to repot

When is the best time to repot roses? In fact, it is very flexible to repot roses. You can repot them in spring, summer and autumn. But one thing to note is that when repotting roses, you should avoid the flowering period and the period before flowering. Basically, the best time to repot roses is in March in spring and late autumn.

If the rose shows no signs of flowering, then you can repot it more freely. When repotting, take the soil with you and try to keep the original soil to avoid damaging the roots and causing the death of the plant.

How to change pots

Before repotting the rose, it needs to be pruned. Remove some of the old roots, diseased roots, and old soil on the plant. Then prune the plant, retaining appropriate branches. The rest can be heavily pruned. The leaves also need to be properly cut off to make it easier to survive. When pruning, you need to pay attention to making the cut smoother. For roses with shorter plants, do not retain the flower buds.

Before repotting, about 3 days in advance, you can water the rose thoroughly so that it will be easier to dig. When repotting, the plant should be taken out in the early morning and the soil should be retained as much as possible.

Choose a flowerpot of appropriate size according to the growth of the plant. Now fill the flowerpot with a drainage layer, then put soil and base fertilizer in it, put the arranged plant in it, and cover it with soil.

Newly potted roses should be watered immediately, and then watered according to their growth conditions. After potting, some carbendazim should be sprayed for sterilization to prevent diseases and pests. In addition, the placement location can be determined based on climatic conditions, and normal maintenance can be carried out after the plants take root.
