Division method

Time selection:

Generally speaking, we will choose April to May in spring or late autumn. If it is the second time period, we can combine it with repotting.

Specific steps:

Choose relatively dense plants, lift them out of the pot, then carefully separate the clumps, plant them in separate pots, water them sufficiently, and place them in a semi-shaded place for maintenance.

Note:

First of all, the temperature is still relatively low in early spring. If reproduction is carried out at this time, it may damage the roots, and the survival rate will be relatively low. Therefore, division should not be done too early, and should be done after the temperature rises. Second, it is best to have three or four or more small plants on each plant, and retain proper soil so that the plants can grow well later. Finally, it is the configuration of the culture soil. It is best to choose a mixture of loose humus, peat soil, perlite and sand.

Tissue culture method

If we use this method, we will choose tenderer stems or petioles without expanded leaves as materials. After disinfection, under sterile conditions, the petioles are cut into small segments of about three millimeters, or the tender stems are cut into small pieces of the same length with nodes, and cultured on the culture medium to induce the material to recover from the wounds and promote the formation of adventitious buds. Under appropriate conditions, adventitious buds can differentiate into adventitious roots. Once the roots are strong enough, they can be transplanted into growing soil.

Note: The cultivation soil should be composed of peat and perlite in a one to one ratio. In addition, after the transplant is completed, the air humidity should be higher, which can increase the chance of survival.
