How to fertilize the ice lantern jade dew

How to fertilize the ice lantern jade dew

1. Fertilization at different times

Generally in spring and autumn, we can apply appropriate fertilizer to the Ice Lantern Jade, so that it can grow better, but at other times we don’t need to apply fertilizer frequently, and it doesn’t need too much fertilizer when it is first planted. Because its demand for fertilizer is not particularly high, and those plants with weaker growth do not need much fertilization. In addition, it will enter a dormant period in summer and winter, so there is no need to fertilize it in these two seasons, and it can still grow well.

2. What fertilizer to apply

Generally, when we fertilize the Ice Lantern Jade, we use some relatively dilute liquid fertilizer or some low-nitrogen fertilizer water at the beginning. Therefore, fertilizer should not be applied indiscriminately. Then you can also add some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. It is generally best to dilute it with a little clean water, and then wait for the soil to dry before watering it. Remember not to use too concentrated nitrogen fertilizer, because nitrogen fertilizer will easily make it grow only taller, so you must be careful when using fertilizer, and be careful not to choose fertilizer that is too concentrated, because concentrated fertilizer may burn the roots of the plant.

3. Fertilization tips

Generally, we like to apply fertilizer directly. In fact, this method is not very good, because its roots cannot absorb it better. Before applying fertilizer, it is best to loosen the soil in the pot first, and then apply fertilizer. In this way, the fertilizer applied can be better absorbed by its roots and grow better. In addition, we must be careful when applying fertilizer not to drip fertilizer onto its roots or leaves, otherwise it will easily cause the roots and leaves to rot. So you have to be careful when applying fertilizer. Generally, not much fertilizer is applied to Ice Lantern Jade, so you must be especially careful.
