How to fertilize daffodils

How to fertilize daffodils

1. Fertilizer selection

When fertilizing potted daffodils, you must pay attention to the rational use of fertilizers. It is generally recommended to use special flower compound fertilizers on the market. After fertilization, the fertilizer will penetrate into the cells of the daffodils, promote metabolism, make the flowers more colorful, the leaves more shiny, and the flowering period longer, which greatly improves the visual effect of viewing the daffodils.

2. Fertilizing potted daffodils

Be sure to remember to apply fertilizer before flowering, which will help the daffodils bloom more beautifully and gorgeously. However, it should be noted that you should not apply fertilizer when the daffodils are blooming, otherwise it will affect its flowering time; the soil for potted daffodils must be alkaline, and you must ensure that the alkalinity of the soil does not change when fertilizing; in autumn and winter, when the temperature is less than 15 degrees Celsius, you can directly not apply fertilizer or apply a very small amount, otherwise it will affect its normal growth and development.

3. Fertilizing hydroponic daffodils

Growing daffodils in water is relatively simple. Basically, you don’t need to apply fertilizer. Just put it in clean water. Because the water for hydroponic daffodils is already sufficient. If the light and temperature are suitable, it can store nutrients in the water by itself, which is enough to provide energy for its growth and development. Of course, if you want the hydroponic daffodils to bloom longer, you can apply some fertilizers appropriately. You can choose the flowering period, and you can choose some quick-acting phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. But you must remember not to apply too much fertilizer, otherwise the roots of the daffodils will rot!
