How to take cuttings of the green treasure tree

How to take cuttings of the green treasure tree

1. Prepare the Seedbed:

This plant likes loose soil with good drainage and irrigation capabilities, so it grows very well in limestone karst areas. If we want to cultivate saplings, we can prepare a seedbed. The substrate is a mixture of fine-grained leaf mold and coarse-grained river sand in a half-weight ratio.

2. time:

In spring, which is full of vitality, from March to April, we can carry out cuttings.

3. temperature:

It is worth noting that in order for the branches to survive and take root quickly, cuttings can only be started when the surrounding temperature is higher than 15 degrees.

4. Clipping:

Select some woody branches that have been growing for 1 to 2 years from healthy and thriving trees, cut the branches into 15 to 20 cm lengths, and then use a knife to gently scrape off all the leaves on the branches. The incision below it should be 0.5 cm away from the node.

5. Insert soil:

Insert the branches into the prepared seedbed, the depth of the soil should reach one-third or one-half of the length of the branches, push the surrounding soil over to surround the branches, and then press the soil layer.

6. Moisture:

When the wounds of the branches are healing and taking root, spray water on the soil to keep it moist.

7. Transplanting:

After its roots have fully grown, you can transplant it into a pot along with the soil. It is best to transplant 2 or 3 plants together.
