How to propagate violets

How to propagate violets

1. Method

Seed propagation

2. Time

Available from August to October. During this period, friends can decide the sowing time according to the required flowering period. For example: If you want it to bloom earlier, you can sow the seeds in early August. If you want it to bloom later, you can sow the seeds after October.

III. Methods

1. Seed collection

When collecting seeds, choose plants with single-petal flowers, because plants with double petals have no pistils and therefore cannot produce seeds.

2. Planting method

First, water the potting soil thoroughly until no water flows out from the bottom of the pot before sowing.

Sow the seeds evenly on the surface of the soil, and then cover it with a thin layer of fine soil. No watering is needed at this time. Choose a cool place to place it. After about half a month, if you find that the soil in the pot is dry, you can put the entire pot in water, with the water level reaching 1/2 of the pot. Stay for a while and then take it out. Generally speaking, you can see small sprouts in about 15 days. Wait until the leaves of the seedlings are fully expanded before transplanting and planting. Be careful when transplanting so as not to damage the seedlings. It is best to transplant them with soil.

3. Post-maintenance

After planting, water it once, but make sure to water it enough, and place it in a place with good air circulation and no direct sunlight. After the seedlings have adapted to the pot, they can be placed in the sun. At this time, they can be watered every two days and fertilized every 10 days. Fertilizing should be stopped after they bloom.
