How to grow cymbidium orchids so that they can bloom

How to grow cymbidium orchids so that they can bloom

1. Root

The roots are its lifeblood, because for newer plants, most of their roots are short, so we need to use coarse soil to grow it for more than half a year. During this period, the soil does not need fertilizer. The pot we provide for it does not need to be too big, so that the new roots can grow better and it will also grow thicker.

When its roots grow bigger and bigger, we can change to a larger and deeper pot. Of course, we can provide it with decomposed fertilizer at this time. If it is a variety that has been planted for a long time or is relatively valuable, its roots will become thick directly, so you can directly use a larger and deeper pot. At this time, you still need to provide decomposed fertilizer.

In addition, the soil we give it needs to be relatively loose, so that the seedlings will grow faster, have more leaves, and the flowers can bloom smoothly. Of course, we must also pay attention that it cannot be divided into pots. It is best to place it in a place with sufficient sunlight.

2. Water and fertilizer

It does not require much water, but we must remember not to give it a too humid environment, because this may damage its roots and affect flowering. In addition, the air humidity should be above 40, and the concentration of fertilizer and water should be relatively high, so that it will grow better and the flowers will bloom well.

3. Growth cycle

Its cycle is relatively long. It takes about two years for a new seedling to grow central leaves, and four years to bloom. In addition, it grows very quickly after acclimatizing. So we can't be impatient, it's best to provide it with a more relaxed environment. If we choose weak seedlings, we need to keep them clean and they will definitely bloom after a few years. We should not turn the soil frequently, otherwise it will damage its roots, and it will be difficult for it to adapt to the new environment, which will affect its flowering.
