How to make gardenia bloom faster

How to make gardenia bloom faster

1. Fertilizer and water

If you want the plant to bloom quickly, you need to pay special attention during the growth period. Both fertilizer and water should be sufficient. Mature organic fertilizer should be applied every ten days or so. Note that you should stop watering the day before fertilizing, and then water thoroughly afterwards. In summer and autumn, you should also use some fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium. You can also use some ferrous sulfate to accelerate flowering. As for watering, you can start watering when the soil turns a little white. In addition, you can spray water appropriately in midsummer, which can accelerate flowering.

2. Reasonable pinching

After the new branches grow three nodes, they need to be pinched. However, in order to prevent too many side buds from sprouting, you can leave only one or two. In addition, in August, a second pinching is needed to speed up flowering.

3. Prevent flower buds from falling

If the flower buds are falling off in large numbers, then they will definitely not bloom soon, so take measures to prevent them from falling off. During the period of bud formation, it is necessary to ensure high humidity and air circulation. But don't let strong winds blow the flower buds. The soil should also be acidic. These can effectively prevent the flower buds from falling.

4. Regular pruning

When pruning, just leave three to five main branches and cut off the rest of the side branches. You can also cut off the branches after the flowers have faded at any time. This can help it reduce nutrient consumption and promote the next flowering.

5. Ensure lighting

During the flowering period, sufficient light needs to be provided to promote the speed of flowering.
