How to make gardenia bloom more

How to make gardenia bloom more

1. Increase fertilizer

Gardenia is a flower that likes fertilizer, especially in the early stage of flowering, it needs to store a large amount of nutrients for flowering. Therefore, the amount of fertilizer applied needs to be increased one month before flowering. Also be careful when choosing fertilizer and don't apply too much nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise it will easily cause it to grow leaves but not bloom. Choose phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, which can stimulate the formation of flowers and buds and increase the number of flowers.

2. Timely pruning

After the gardenia blooms, some withered flowers and buds may remain on the branches, constantly consuming the nutrients of the plant. If it is not cut off in time, it will consume excessive nutrients accumulated in the plant and affect its next flowering. Therefore, after each flowering, you should observe it in time and cut off the withered flowers and dead branches.

3. Change the soil quality

Gardenia has very strict requirements on soil and it is very difficult for it to bloom in alkaline soil. Therefore, when watering, you can add a little FeSO4 or salt-free vinegar to the water. This can effectively lower the pH value of the soil, allowing it to grow better and bloom more.

4. Watering at the right time

Gardenia prefers moisture. If its normal growing environment is too dry and lacks water, it will easily lead to its inability to carry out normal physiological metabolism, making it difficult to bloom. Therefore, when raising it, you must pay attention to ensure that there is a certain amount of moisture in the soil to avoid affecting its flowering.
