How to propagate orchids by cuttings

How to propagate orchids by cuttings

1. How to take cuttings

When taking orchid cuttings, use scissors to cut the loose parts of the pseudobulbs from the joints of the stems of healthy plants. Make sure the orchid plants to be cut have nodes. Insert them into the potting soil and roots will grow soon.

2. Maintenance methods

1. Prepare the soil: prepare some leaf mold with dead branches and leaves. You can also add some perlite to make a breathable and loose soil.

2. Choose a suitable flowerpot: The pot for growing orchids should be determined according to the size of the orchids, a medium size will be sufficient. If the flowerpot is too big, the soil will not dry easily, which may lead to root rot. If the flowerpot is too small, the soil may dry out too quickly and be difficult to manage.

3. Water appropriately: When watering, wait until the soil is completely dry before watering, and water the soil thoroughly.
